UTILITY COMPANY CONTACTS

Kelowna has various water districts and before buying a home in  it is a good idea to have an understanding of where you water is coming from and if payment for the water is included in your taxes or if it is billed quarterly. Every district has a different policy in billing and it is nice to know ahead of time if you will be receiving a separate bill for water.

The electricity and gas could be could be BC Hydro, BC Gas or Fortis Gas or Fortis Electric . Confusing when the names are so similar.

It is also recommended to check and see if your home is on sewer or septic. It was not that long ago that older homes in the Lower Mission were still found to be on Septic. If you are purchasing a home on septic have it pumped and inspected as part of the conditions of your contract of purchase and sale. In Kelowna and area there are many different soil conditions and all of them require different septic maintenance.
