Smith Creek is nestled between Shannon Lake in the east, and Glenrosa in the west, the neighbourhood of Smith Creek is one of the most rural out of all the neighbourhoods of West Kelowna. Smith Creek covers a large area though has a very low housing density, appealing to families and retirees who want peace and quiet. Despite the relative peacefulness of Smith Creek, the neighbourhood is still only minutes away from the expanding big box stores and spacious grocery stores of West Kelowna, so it offers the best of both worlds.
Living In Rural Community
Much of the real estate in Smith Creek is acreages, comprising small family-run farms, while in the northern reaches of the neighbourhood there are residential streets with newer single family homes alongside more established streets of the same. At the eastern edge of Smith Creek new homes are being constructed as this end of the neighbourhood begins to merge with Shannon Lake. Families will be drawn to these newer homes because of their proximity to Shannon Lake Elementary.
With its more rural feel Smith Creek doesn’t offer much in the way of shops and services, but as West Kelowna is only minutes away residents have easy access to everything they need. Instead, Smith Creek is well known for its mountain biking and hiking opportunities in the forested mountainsides, just off Smith Creek Road.
